CowboyUp! Band Overview & Info

Meet the Band!

Reggie Evans - Vocals, Tamborine

Picture
Reggie's singing and musical interests has roots in the church choir and the influence of his parents.  Because of his love of ALL TYPES of music over the years, Reggie became a regular on the karaoke circuit competing and winning most contests he entered.  This is where his love of Country Music was born.  At the suggestion of a close friend, and to pursue a life long dream, Reggie sought to get involved with a live band project as a singer.  The CowboyUp Band opportunity presented itself as Reggie's first band venture.   Reggie brings a "BIG VOICE" and rich harmonies to CowboyUps top 40 country, classic country and classic rock style.  He also brings the tamborine chimes and an occasional stick to a cymbal.

Mike Rye - Lead Guitar, Vocals

Picture
Michael Rye has performed with a variety of local and national groups, including the Oak Ridge Boys, Martina McBride, Dave Brubeck, and Bobby Vinton.  He is proficient in rock, jazz, country, and classical music.  He currently teaches at Grace University, as well as privately, and maintains an active performance schedule in many settings.

Al Znamenacek - Drums

Picture
Al has been drumming since 5th grade at Giltner Elementary School when he pretended to have a clue what he was doing & the teacher showed him he did not (some say he still doesn't).  School band continued thru Barr Jr High and even Doane College (Had the black double bass drum Pearl's set up at Grandma's house upstairs, but was only allowed to practice when she was more than a block away).  Al's first real band at age 19 was Smith & Jones Band in GI (RIP Gordon Harris & Ken Fitch) playing places or dives like Ghost Riders in GI, BZ's in Kearney, and Calamus Dam's bar.  Later bands included Catz & Rhythm City Express  that played mostly in the GI, Kearney, Hastings, Columbus area.  After "retiring" from bands, Al started Z & Z Tunes DJ business & DJ'd at Images Lounge/GI, Desert Rose/GI & Gentleman Jim's/Lincoln & sat in with many bands thru that time.  He has run sound/lights for Second Nature, Nightshift, Input and a few other bands that really never asked for his input.  After getting the itch again & buying used drums from his brother, he answered an ad about a start up country band  & came up with the name "CowboyUp! Band" while driving down the interstate (bumper stickers DO work!)  Al has 3 boys - Casey, Zach, & Nick & 1 daughter - Elyse that are all way more talented musically than he is (he is THE DRUMMER!)  But mostly, he wants to have FUN & make sure everyone that comes to see CowboyUp! Band does too!

Dean Bolton - Bass Guitar, Vocals

Picture
Dean has played in Chad Lee Band & The Regulators.  Stay tuned for more info...
